Ansgar, Bishop of Hamburg, missionary to Denmark and Sweden, died 865
A monk who helped bring Christianity to Scandinavia, Ansgar returned to Germany where he was named bishop of Hamburg. He is remembered for his love for poor people.

GDLC Annual Meeting
Sunday, January 31, at 1pm following lunch.
Among the items on the agenda will be the election of council members, the church budget, an elevator proposal, and some proposed changes to Gloria Dei’s constitution- copies of which are available on the Kiosk.

Blood Drive
Donate blood with the DeGowin blood center on Wednesday, February 10, 3:30 - 7:30 pm downstairs in the fellowship hall. The sign up sheet is on the kiosk in the narthex, or visit GeGowin to register and sign up for a time.
BOOK SALE: the Annual Used Book Sale for Shelter House will be held Saturday, February 27th at Hope United Methodist. It's time to start collecting books you'd like to donate--we'll take any books EXCEPT no encyclopedias, no magazines, no computer manuals. There will be space in the coat room to leave books, or contact us if you have a LOT of books, and we'll arrange pick-up: UsedBookSale [shelterhousebooksale@gmail.com]. All proceeds will go to support Shelter House and secure its future.
