The Lenten Journey

Please join us- Wednesday Evenings Soup Supper at 5:30 pm Book Study at 6:15 pm Worship at 7:10 pm Lent begins with a solemn call to repentance, fasting, prayer, and works of love as we begin our journey to the baptismal waters of Easter. As disciples of the Lord Jesus we are called to struggle against everything that leads us away from God and neighbor.

You are invited to Gloria Dei for any of our worship times or activities. Choirs hold rehearsal every Wednesday, new singers are always welcome. For young families a cry room is available in the lounge out the back of the sanctuary.



LENTEN BOOK STUDY
Wednesdays in Lent beginning February 24th, (6:15 pm in the fellowship hall) This year’s book is The Bible, A Biography by Karen Armstrong. In this book Armstrong discusses the historical life of the Bible. Join the book discussion!


CROP WALK
Palm Sunday, March 28
The Crop Walk this year will be Sunday, March 28th, leaving the Rec Center at 1:30 pm. Last year $33,040.92 was raised. 25% of that amount, $8,260 went to the Crisis Center Food Bank. The other 75%, $24,780.92 went to Church World Service. Please sign up to walk or support a walker with a monetary donation with Laney Wingate or Marlys Svare.


SPECIAL LENTEN SERVICE
This Wednesday, March 10
Gloria Dei will again present “Mountain Vespers,” a bluegrass style worship service featuring musicians from our congregation.
